Not sure whether Rapid Finance offered you an advance or a line of credit? That question matters most.

Rapid Finance has been around a long time. BBB lists it at 21 years in business, accredited since 2010, with an A+ rating [9]. It is a real company, and it answers every negative review on Trustpilot [7].

The worry worth having is about which product you are signing. Rapid Finance sells a merchant cash advance, term loans and a line of credit, and the three work very differently. Several owners say they thought they were getting a credit line and signed an advance instead [8]. You can avoid that by reading the title of the contract and asking for the total payback in dollars before you sign.

Is it a fit for you?

It fits when

  • You take card payments or carry receivables and want debits that follow a percentage of them [1].
  • You want one company that offers an advance, a term loan up to $1 million and a line of credit [1][2][3].
  • You need fast draws on a line of credit through a prepaid Mastercard [3].
  • You care about how your data is shared; Rapid Finance shares with other funders only with your authorization [6].

Look elsewhere when

  • You want a price before you apply; no factor rate is published for the cash advance [1].
  • You are not sure which product a rep is pitching; complaints describe advances sold as credit lines [8].
  • You need written early payoff terms up front; none are published [1].
  • You plan to renew mid-deal; one owner says renewal fees were charged again on the same money [8].

Our verdict: 2.5 out of 5

Rapid Finance scores 2.5 out of 5. It does well where it is open, on data sharing, phone hours and its BBB record, but our method weighs price and contract clarity heavily, and on its cash advance Rapid Finance publishes neither a factor rate nor a fee list [1]. The most common complaint we found was not about price but about confusion over which product an owner signed [8].

Rapid Finance says more than 30 thousand small businesses trust it and that it has funded over $3 billion [4]. Its loans and lines come from Small Business Financial Solutions, LLC and Rapid Financial Services, LLC, and a related company arranges SBA and other loans through partners [1]. The site does not name which entity buys receivables on a cash advance, so look for it on the first page of the agreement.

Pros

  • A+ BBB rating with 3 complaints in 3 years [9].
  • Does not sell personal information; shares with other funders only with your authorization [6].
  • Replies to every negative Trustpilot review [7].
  • Cash advance debits follow a percentage of receivables, not a fixed amount [1].

Cons

  • No published factor rate or fee list for the cash advance [1].
  • Owners report advances presented as credit lines [8].
  • No published early payoff terms [1].
  • No published credit, time or revenue minimums [1].

Products, amounts and who qualifies

Rapid Finance's merchant cash advance runs from $5,000 to $500,000 and is a purchase of part of your future card sales or other receivables at a discount, not a loan [1]. It also offers small business loans, a line of credit, asset-based loans, bridge loans and SBA loans [2][3][4].

Rapid Finance products as published, Oct 21, 2026
ProductAmountTermPaymentsPublished cost
Merchant cash advance$5,000 to $500,000No fixed term; estimated 3 to 18 monthsA percentage of card sales or receivablesFees may be charged and deducted from the advance [1]
Small business loan$5,001 to $1 million3 to 60 monthsFixed daily, weekly or monthlyNot published [2]
Line of credit$5,001 to $250,000Amortizes over 3 to 18 monthsDaily, weekly or monthlyInterest charge or fixed fee [3]
Asset-based loan$50,000 to $10 million6 to 36 monthsFixed daily, weekly or monthlyNot published [4]

Rapid Finance does not publish a minimum credit score, time in business or revenue for any of these. To apply for the cash advance it asks for four things: a valid ID, your business bank account and routing numbers, the last three months of bank statements and the last three months of card processing statements [1]. Your business must take card payments or have other receivables [1].

Cost, payment schedule and speed

Rapid Finance does not publish a factor rate. Its page says the receivables are bought at a discounted price and that fees may be charged and deducted from the advance amount [1]. Market factor rates for advances run from about 1.1 to 1.5 [10]. Ask your rep for three numbers in writing: the factor rate, every fee taken out at funding, and the total payback in dollars. Then check them in our MCA calculator.

Because payments are a percentage of your sales, there is no fixed end date. Rapid Finance gives an estimated completion date that typically ranges from 3 to 18 months, and says it is only an estimate [1]. Slower months stretch it; busier months shorten it.

On speed, Rapid Finance says that once you choose an option and are approved, it may send funds to your bank account within hours [1]. You can apply online or by phone, review options in its portal, and request more financing from your online account later if eligible [1].

Complaints, reviews and the public record

We read the first four pages of Rapid Finance's Trustpilot reviews on Oct 21, 2026: 80 reviews, 54 Verified and 26 non-invited [7]. The organic 26 averaged 4.0 stars. Three of them said the deal differed from what they were told, including a weekly payment that did not match what an agent described and a first debit earlier than the contract said [7][8].

The 1-star filter shows two reviews, more than a year apart and in near-identical words, from owners who say an advance was presented as a line of credit and that restructuring was not offered [8]. Another owner says a renewal charged full fees again on money still owed [8]. Rapid Finance replied to each of these, usually by pointing to the payment terms in the signed agreement [8].

BBB rates Rapid Finance A+, accredited since 2010, with 3 complaints in the last 3 years [9]. We searched FTC releases, the New York and New Jersey Attorney General sites and news coverage for Rapid Finance and RapidAdvance and found no action naming either.

Three questions before you sign

Is this a loan, a line of credit or a merchant cash advance? The title of the agreement answers it.

When is the first debit? One owner says the first payment came the day after funding, not a week later [8].

Is there an early payback amendment, and what does it save? Get it attached to the contract [8].

Support, your data and the line of credit card

Rapid Finance's phone team works Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET [5]. Its privacy policy says it does not sell personal information and shares it with third parties who help you get financing only with your business's express written or verbal authorization [6]. That is tighter than most funders we reviewed.

The line of credit has one feature we did not see elsewhere in this group: draws can go to a Rapid Access Prepaid Mastercard issued by SoFi Bank, as well as by ACH to your bank [3]. The line amortizes over 3 to 18 months, and the term may reset each time you draw [3], so a fresh draw can stretch your payments out again.
