Taycor Financial review: quick equipment lease approvals, very little published price

Taycor Financial scores 2.4 out of 5 on our method: fast two-hour approvals on equipment leases up to $150,000, but it publishes no rates, and your application can be shared with partner lenders [1][17].

Is Taycor a real lender, and will a lease lock you in?

Taycor is real and licensed. It holds two California finance lender licenses and says it has been licensed there since 2004 [19]. BBB lists Taycor Financial with an A plus rating [21]. Checking an offer starts with a soft credit pull, so looking does not lower your score [10].

The lock-in question has a real answer too. Taycor says a lease can be paid off early and that it charges no prepayment penalty [6][12]. What it does not publish is how much you save by paying early, or what your rate will be. You get both only in your quote, so this review shows you exactly what to ask for.

2.4/ 5
CriterionWeightScoreWhy
Cost disclosure20%2.0Taycor publishes the payment structure (fixed payments, first and last payment up front, end-of-term options) but no rate, rate range or fee list; it says rates depend on credit, time in business, cost and term [2][7][9].
Contract matches the quote15%2.0Four of the five 1-star Trustpilot reviews, all unprompted, allege terms that differed from what was understood: a surprise co-signer, a payoff far above expectations, rates not put in writing [20]. Only 11 reviews exist, so the evidence is thin.
Post-signing conduct25%2.5Not enough public evidence. No regulator or court action found, BBB rates it A plus [21], and no servicing or hardship policy is published.
Payoff treatment10%3.0Taycor states no prepayment penalties and a cost savings for paying early [12], but never says how the payoff is figured. One reviewer said the early payoff quote was far above what they expected [20].
Total cost15%2.5Not published. Taycor prices each deal after reviewing credit and assets; the market range for equipment financing is about 4% to 45% APR [22].
Customer evidence10%2.5Trustpilot shows 11 reviews averaging 4.0, with only 1 in the last 12 months, all unprompted; 45% are one-star [20]. BBB rates it A plus [21]. Not enough public evidence for more.
Lead handling and support5%2.5Phone hours are published, 10AM to 7PM Eastern on weekdays [14]. But its terms let it share your application with network partners who may keep and use it, including for marketing calls and texts [17][18].

Is it a fit for you?

It fits when

  • You are leasing or financing equipment, vehicles or software of $5,000 or more
  • You want a decision within hours on a request up to $150,000
  • You care about end-of-lease choices such as fair market value or $1 buyout
  • Your business has two years of history, or you are willing to try a newer-business program

Look elsewhere when

  • You want to see a rate before you apply
  • You cannot pay two monthly payments at signing
  • You do not want your application passed to partner lenders
  • You need cash for payroll or inventory more than equipment; compare working capital lenders first

Our verdict: a fast leasing desk that keeps its prices private

Taycor Financial earns 2.4 out of 5, and much of that is a lack of public evidence rather than proof of bad conduct. It is mainly an equipment leasing and finance company based in California, with working capital, SBA, commercial mortgage and factoring on the side [15]. Its strength is speed: approvals within two hours for requests up to $150,000 [1]. Its weak spots are no published pricing, contract terms that say your application can go to partner lenders, and a review record too small to tell you much.

Pros

  • Approval within two hours on requests up to $150,000
  • Application only, no tax returns, up to $400,000
  • Clear end-of-term choices: fair market value, $1 buyout or 10% option
  • No prepayment penalty stated on its equipment page

Cons

  • No rates, rate ranges or fee schedule published
  • First and last payment due at signing
  • Application may be shared with network partners who keep it
  • Only 11 Trustpilot reviews, 5 of them one-star

What Taycor finances and who qualifies

Taycor leases and finances new and used equipment, vehicles, software, technology, furniture and machinery, and it can wrap construction projects including materials and labor [15]. The smallest lease it writes is $5,000 [7]. It says it has helped 250,000 companies [23].

Larger or complex deals need tax returns, financial statements and bank statements [27]. For working capital, Taycor asks for your EIN, business bank statements and your Social Security number, and says some requests fund in as little as one day [24].

How a Taycor lease is priced and paid

Taycor does not publish a rate. Its FAQ says a lease is not a principal and interest loan, and the price depends on your credit history, time in business, the equipment's cost, the term and the structure [2]. Payments are fixed for the whole term [7]. Leasing covers 100% of the price, but Taycor typically collects the first and last payment in advance when you sign [9]. On a lease with a $1,000 monthly payment, for example, plan on $2,000 due at signing.

End-of-term options Taycor describes [3][4][5]
OptionAt the endBest for
Fair market value (FMV)Extend, return, or buy at fair market valueGear that ages fast, like tech
$1 buyoutBuy for $1 ($101 in some states)Gear you plan to keep
10% purchase optionBuy for a set percent of cost, or returnA capped buyout with an exit

Ask for these five numbers before you sign

The total of all payments. The amount due at signing. The buyout price at the end, in dollars. The documentation or origination fee, if any. The written formula for an early payoff. Then put the offer into our loan payment calculator to see the implied rate.

For comparison, equipment financing across the market runs roughly 4% to 45% APR [22]. An FMV lease often has a lower payment, but if you end up buying the equipment at fair market value, the total can exceed a $1 buyout lease on the same gear.

How applying with Taycor works, step by step

  1. Fill out the online application. Taycor uses a soft credit pull at this stage [10].
  2. Get a decision. Requests up to $150,000 are approved within two hours of a one-page application [1].
  3. Pick the structure: loan or lease, the term, and the end-of-term option.
  4. Sign. Taycor sends the lease documents overnight, by hand or by email, so expect paperwork within a day of approval [28].
  5. Taycor sends a purchase order to your equipment seller once your signed documents arrive, and the seller ships [28].

On taxes, Taycor's FAQ says the IRS generally lets you deduct 100% of a properly structured lease payment as an expense, and it tells you to confirm with your tax preparer [29]. Ask your accountant whether a $1 buyout lease or a fair market value lease suits your books better, because the two can be handled differently for tax purposes, before you choose.

Paying early, and where your application goes

Taycor's equipment page says there are no prepayment penalties and that paying off early brings a cost savings [12]. Its FAQ says only that a lease can be paid off early [6]. Neither explains how the payoff amount is set, and one 1-star reviewer said Taycor quoted an early payoff far above the reviewer's estimate and would not show the math [20]. Get the payoff method written into the lease.

Taycor calls itself principally a commercial lender, but its terms of use describe an application as a request to be matched with other banks, lenders and brokers [16]. By applying you agree it may share your information with network partners, who may keep and use it even if you never use them [17], and you consent to calls and texts from Taycor and those partners, including marketing by autodialer [18]. Taycor itself does not pull hard credit, but partner lenders may [25].

Reviews, BBB and regulator record

Trustpilot shows just 11 Taycor reviews with an average of 4.0, and only 1 written in the last 12 months [20]. All 11 are unprompted. Six are five-star and praise individual reps, mostly from 2017 to 2021. The five one-star reviews, from 2022 to 2024, allege a pre-approval that later needed a co-signer, an early payoff quote higher than expected, rates that were never put in writing, and higher-than-expected interest after a broker passed on documents [20]. BBB lists Taycor Financial in Irvine, California, with an A plus rating [21].

We found no regulator or court action naming Taycor. Its two California finance lender license numbers are printed on its site, and you can check them with California's financial regulator [19]. If you are in New Jersey, see our New Jersey equipment financing guide for state programs to compare against a private lease.

  • Lendio: shows equipment offers from several funders at once, with the same data-sharing tradeoff.
  • Live Oak Bank or SmartBiz: SBA loans can fund equipment at capped rates if you can wait weeks.
